Testimonials

Kimberley is a top-class trainer brimming with passion, knowledge, skill and talent.  I am so grateful to have encountered her, initially as one of the few certified to instruct with Franklin Balls, the improvements to my own position were in a short space at time and still so much to work on with myself and my young green pony.  I’m loving our lessons with Kimberley, they are delivered with a professional but personable approach and her own CPD is evident with the training and competing she undertakes herself.   I’m looking forward to attending some of the clinics at Kimberley’s yard now that I have transport too. Thank you so much

Every lesson or clinic I have had with Kim has always been different with regards to content but each session leaves a feeling of achievement and sense of improvement. The most obvious thing about a lesson is I have fun. This doesn’t mean that it was easy or that I looked like a professional but I was thinking and riding with confidence. Kim is the first instructor I have had to actually teach me how it feels to be in the correct position. Instead of just telling you what you should be doing, she actually helps to get you there and you really notice a difference (the horse probably does too)! I always leave a lesson or clinic with a smile and a confidence in my ability to ride thanks to Kim.

I have known Kim for years but she has been teaching me consistently for roughly 3 and a half years. When I look back through photos & videos I am so proud of how much we have improved. I credit Kim completely for how much we have progressed with our dressage and it shows in the results we have achieved over the last year or two. She has also helped me gain confidence in my jumping and I’m really enjoying it again. Kim is extremely patient with me and will allways take the time to help me and give me advice, not just in lessons time outside of this too. She allways has mine and Archie’s best interest in mind and allways explains things to me so I have a good understanding which I think is really important in helping us progress. I’m very grateful for all the work Kim puts in when teaching me and Archie and you can tell how much she cares. I would 100% recommend Kim.

I first met Kim around the beginning of 2019 when after much persuasion on my part I convinced my mum to get back in the saddle after several years off and a nasty fall. I have my own horses and wanted mum to be able to share the pleasure that they are with me and be able to come out and ride together. She was more than a little nervous getting back into riding and very much starting from scratch with no idea if she would want to keep it up or just give it a go that once again to appease me. Kim’s approach in that first 30 minute lunge lesson was all it needed for mum to fall in love with riding and horses again. After the initial shock of being on board had worn off the biggest smile remained on mums face for the entire lesson. Kims approach with teaching is one of the best I have come across in my 27 years riding, she is empathetic to her riders fears and concerns and absolutely brilliant at knowing when she can push someone that little bit further out of their comfort zone to get the most out of them, which in my experience is oh so important, all too many times when I have been training for competitions etc I have needed that extra push when I wanted to give up ! She is incredibly focused on making sure that the riders position is accurate, that the horses wellbeing during the training is paramount and that her riders are safe. Mum had a better position and grasp of how to ride correctly within the first couple of lessons with Kim that she hadn’t reached after 6 weeks with her previous tuition. Kim makes her lessons not only educational but best of all FUN! She truly cares about her students and their progression. She is forward thinking in her approach and has threatened me to a few rounds with her franklin balls which I will most certainly be booking up as soon as I can. If you are looking for an instructor that really will improve your riding at what ever level you may be at I would not hesitate to recommend her ! I can honestly say that Kim has not only given my mum the confidence to ride again but she has become a good friend in the process.

I started riding with Kim in May 2019 after 9 years out the saddle which meant I was basically starting as a true beginner with no confidence whatsoever. Kim has taught me everything I know and I am now able and confident enough to own my own pony & I’ve had her since October 2019!! My journey with Kim has been nothing but amazing and I couldn’t have done it without her. I’m now learning to jump in under a year of riding again which is a huge achievement and something I never thought I could do, however Kim has made it possible. Would highly recommend her to anyone, I wouldn’t go anywhere else to learn or to stable my pony. Thanks for everything! Xx

I first met Kimberley just over a year ago when I wanted to learn to ride again( as an older beginner) Kimberley has been a fantastic instructor, has given me a truly good grounding in correct position, Franklin ball instruction fantastic experience, and helped me regain confidence following a nasty fall a couple years earlier when I first wanted to learn. Unending patience and has become a friend along the way. Hopefully many more lessons to come!

Kim agreed to kindly take me under her wing, having no confidence in my ability at all caused from past riding incidents. She has been thoroughly patient and understanding from day one, answering all my questions with an explanation I could understand to put into practice. Not only giving me the confidence to actually get back on the horse after I almost gave up… I am now able to hack alone, I’ve even broken a difficult driving pony myself and enjoy jumping her over small fences. Kim is not only a riding instructor, she is a counsellor and a good friend, she addresses both horse and rider issues. Giving confidence, advice and encouragement to her clients. Her hard work and dedication has paid off with me and my pony and I can’t wait to continue the learning process. Thank you Kim.

I can highly recommend Kim as a horse riding instructor. Kim has been my trainer for many years and Octavia and I have gone from strength to strength. I was very hesitant when I started lessons as my horse was recovering from hock surgery with very poor prognosis of returning full ridden work. I was very encouraged that Kim listened to my concerns and worked with me to improve Octavia’s strength & soundness. Kim helped me with my rehabilitation work and then we slowly progressed towards competitive riding. I’m delighted that we have been able to compete in dressage. Last year we achieved Reserve Champion status at a dressage championship show. I’m grateful for Kim’s dedication and constant encouragement towards my riding progress. I find Kim approachable, kind & knowledgable. I like that Kim strives to improve her own riding and coaching skills. In particular I have found the use of the Franklin balls and bands very beneficial. I would definitely suggest contacting Kim and start having fun with your horses while improving your riding and self confidence.

My pony and I have had the pleasure of knowing Kim since 2017. She originally started out schooling Sonny due to me being unable to ride and you could really tell the difference in his way of going- he was so much more off the leg and willing- to the point where for the first time my 21 year old pony cantered over a pole, something nobody else had previously managed to get him to do! When i was able to get back on, Kim was so encouraging and really helped my nerves and for the first time i actually felt like i was riding not just sitting up there. The last couple of years have been a bit up and down but over the coming months I’m aiming to start riding sonny again and couldn’t think of a better person than Kim to have by my side and would not hesitate to recommend her to anybody.

I ride over to Kim’s for pole work clinics and lessons. People think I’m mad but I truly believe Kim is worth the time and money. Kim has helped me and Surri (my Arab) to work together. Kim listens to where I have issues and what we need to work on and that’s how our lessons work. Kim taught me years ago on my little pony and I hadn’t seen her in years when I asked about teaching me and Surri, Kim remembered all my bad habits and how I rode as if she had only seen me the week before. Kim has an understanding for the horse and will work on the horse and rider together. If your looking to progress as a team with your horse and not looking for quick fixes I highly recommend Kim.

Kim has been there every step of the way with my girls retraining. It’s taken time but we’ve worked slowly and kindly, she’s taught me to help Kahlua hold herself and helped me to let go unlike other trainers who will have you hold that horse up and force it into an outline. Never would I have thought a year ago I’d be doing all the stuff I’m doing now especially qualifying for dressage championships and placing in most ridden tests at her golden age of 20. Kim has picked me up and kicked me up the butt when I’ve been so close to giving up. A kind and sympathetic trainer in all aspects horse or rider. Highly recommend to anyone in any discipline x
